Billing and Insurance questions:
Is Speech Therapy covered by my insurance?
Yes! Current insurance plans accepted: Medicare. Medicare covers 80% of each visit. The remaining 20% is paid out of pocket or covered by a Supplemental insurance plan (eg Blue Cross) if available. Example: After Medicare pays 80%, the out of pocket cost estimate is around $18/session if there is not a supplemental insurance available to cover the remaining 20%. If a supplemental plan exists, Medicare sends a bill directly to your private insurance company for payment to TC Speech.
What if I have a Medicare Advantage Plan?
If a private health insurance company (eg United, Blue Cross) manages your Medicare plan, you are allowed to pay privately for Speech Therapy services. Rates will be aligned with Medicare reimbursement guidelines and discussed prior to initiation of services.
Can I use HSA funds to pay for Speech Therapy?
Yes! Speech therapy is eligible for reimbursement with flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), and health reimbursement accounts (HRA). They are not eligible for reimbursement with dependent care flexible spending accounts and limited-purpose flexible spending accounts (LPFSA).
Can I pay privately for Speech Therapy?
